Food can be a powerful tool to build health, wealth and promote positive change in the community.
We believe that when families reclaim the kitchen as a place to bond with and educate their children, then communities become stronger and more able to deal with the struggles of daily life. Bringing people together around food is one way to build capacity for creating social, racial and economic justice and bettering communities.
Appetite For Change seeks to build individual, family, and community capacity to use growing, cooking and eating food as vehicles for social change.
- We envision a society free from health disparities where families can access, afford, and create healthy and delicious foods regardless of class, race, gender, ethnicity or geographic location.
- We envision strong families and communities, centered around a local food system, where economic prosperity is available to all people.
- We envision a world where every child is able to grow-up healthy in their community.
